Ivan van Rooyen has spent his career in two seats: the right-hand seat of a working helicopter, and the desk that keeps an operation safe, legal and flying.

He has flown offshore, on the long line, low-level on survey, alongside transmission lines and over game on the move. He has also served as Chief Pilot, Chief Flight Instructor, Head of Training, Safety Manager, Flight Operations Manager and Accountable Manager, and has tested other pilots as a Designated Flight Examiner since 2012.

Clients engage him for that combination: one person who can fly the task, train and check the crew, write the procedure and stand behind the safety case.
